Discover Why Clinical Systems and Processes Is Essential To Nurse Leaders In A Geriatric Facility
This is your chance to learn new evidence-based clinical techniques so you'll never worry about poor clinical outcomes ever again.
Yes, tell me everything.
Is this you?
- Your day-to-day clinical duty is overwhelming because the usual processes don't seem to work.
- You are working longer hours to address endless health concerns from residents.
- You are feeling incompetent as a nurse leader because you have no idea how to effectively build a geriatric facility.
Here's the thing...
Â
Nursing is becoming increasingly specialized and complex as it continues to transition into an intricate and demanding profession.Â
Nursing directors, leaders, and all the staff nurses in long-term care communities must have a firm dedication to ensure excellence throughout their clinical careers.
Promoting the health of the elderly should be our main goal and responsibility.
TAKE ME INBut what if instead of delivering excellent patient care and receiving good resident outcomes, what you received is this:
- Increased rate of rehospitalizations and grievances
- Negative clinical outcomes
- Extra financial hardship for the facility
- Substandard quality of patient care
As a nurse leader, you’ll feel inadequate and unqualified. As a staff nurse, you’ll feel unskillful and incapable. Most likely, you will evaluate. You will think about what needs to be corrected and what needs to be improved further.

One thing's for sure!
Having a solid, systematized clinical metric the nursing team can follow on a day-to-day basis can totally get rid of the overwhelm and can definitely put the system into place.
TAKE ME INYou know what? I've been there.
In my 14 years of experience as a nursing consultant, I traveled across multiple states to assist long-term care facilities in regaining their compliance and rebuilding their reputation. This is when I realized, there’s always one clinical metric that was broken ̶ that is the clinical management systems and processes.
During my experience, I learned that residents' difficulties weren't resolved in a timely and orderly manner because clinical processes weren't prioritized. There was no adequate communication between staffs, no proper endorsements, and no appropriate actions were taken in order for the whole facility to effectively function.
Â
That’s why I created this program.Â
Â
It’s draining to spend hours and hours each week working on the same problem, trying to get one process to work.Â
To begin with, I wanted to get to the root of the challenge, the challenge that keeps a Director of Nursing and the Clinical Leadership Team up at night, trying to get managers, nurses, and caregivers to deliver consistently high standards of care.

Hi, I'm Brenda!
My first job as nursing director was in 2006. I accepted this position with little to no experience in handling long-term care facilities and with no other person to guide me along the process.Â
After spending many, tireless months working and trying to find out how to effectively operate the whole facility and how to deliver better quality care for the residents, my team and I were able to figure out the deficiencies by means of the surveys we received from our patients.Â
As my roles continued to grow, my experience expanded at the same time. I have worked as a clinical nurse consultant, a director of clinical operations in multi states, and built healthcare products in collaboration with an enormous electronic health record corporation.Â
Because of these remarkable experiences, I have learned that my calling is to serve long-term care communities. And this is by means of my greatest passion — teaching.Â
This passion, therefore, is the main purpose why I created this clinical management course.Â
Here's Why You Need This Course
The majority of nursing directors and nursing staff still don’t understand how valuable clinical systems and processes are to long-term care facilities.Â
For this reason, we cannot avoid the possibility of poor patient care outcomes. Increased risk in rehospitalizations and grievances may happen periodically, therefore, affecting the credibility and competence not only of the staff but of the facility as a whole.
That's what this course is all about.
The techniques and approaches you’ll learn in this program quickly unveil the purpose, provide solutions for the director of nursing, review complex health conditions, develop an evidence-based plan to correct residents' concerns, and validate positive results daily.
Introducing Clinical Management Course

"It has been my privilege to know and partner with Benda Sheppard for many years. I was fortunate to hire Brenda as my Clinical partner, overseeing Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living Centers in Georgia, Virginia, Connecticut, and Florida. Upon our introduction, a bond was created that I trust and depend upon.
Center by Center, Brenda was able to assess, identify opportunities, and implement “Systems and Processes” that were successful and sustaining. I recognize qualities in her that are indicative of a compassionate Servant Leader. Her strengths are embodied in her communication and time management skills, as well as her proficiency at motivating and directing others. She has also worked extensively with electronic documentation and reporting systems.
I believe that Brenda has established appropriate balance in her personal and professional life. She understands the sacrifice necessary to achieve excellence. I am confident in my recommendation of Core Systems Clinical Consulting."

"I received a phone call from a previous consultant stating the nursing facility where I was employed previously had received multiple J-Tags. She wanted to know if I would be interested in returning as the D. O. N.? Well I did go in for the interview and at that time was when I met Brenda Sheppard.Â
We spoke and she was very honest about what was going on in the building. The building was in their survey window and they were by no means ready, I had to build a team. Needless to say, I did accept the job offer and from that day to the day of the survey, my staff, along with Brenda, worked tirelessly at providing education and tools for the building to succeed.Â
Brenda taught us a whole new way of thinking and reacting to situations. I thought I knew everything and slowly found out that there were some things that I needed to brush up on. She was always available and always pushed the staff to think outside the box. She was available to provide inclusive training that focused on topics that would keep you in compliance.Â
Brenda left us with a sense of knowing we would be able to use the way she encouraged us to think and react to things to obtain the goal. A deficiency-free survey.Â
Upon leaving us, we had a luncheon in Brenda's honor and had t-shirts made that would remind us of Brenda's teachings. The shirts' statement was WWBD (What Would Brenda Do)? This became a constant reminder of her teachings and guidance through the process of preparation for surveys.Â
She was truly an inspiration, mentor, and friend."

"With the assistance of Brenda’s guidance and collaboration, our facilities were able to improve clinical processes, outcomes and pass many surveys including the immediate removal of an Immediate Jeopardy citing in a facility.
Brenda’s dedication and patience with us ultimately assisted the facilities with becoming regulatory-compliant. Mrs. Brenda created the blueprint and transitioned our facilities from paper to electronic medical administration health records.
This positively impacted several facilities in the multi-site region to include both Skilled and Assisted Living Facilities in many ways to include: decrease in penalties being paid, increased staff retention from staff training by increased support success through process and workflow, and higher reimbursement related to nursing documentation training.Â
Mrs. Sheppard means business when it comes to taking care of residents, staff, and facilities. She is friendly and approachable. She has a unique ability to teach and someone others want to listen and follow. I could go on and on about Brenda. I highly recommend Core Systems Clinical Consulting for all your clinical training and consulting needs."
