This is My Story.

 

I am a registered nurse with over 30 years of experience, driven by a deep commitment to patient care and excellence in long-term care. My journey began in 1995 when I was first introduced to long-term care, but it wasn’t until 2005 that I fully recognized it as my calling.

At that time, I accepted a Director of Nursing position in a 270-bed facility—despite having very limited experience in long-term care. What I did have was determination. I spent countless hours learning the system, understanding regulatory expectations, and working alongside staff to improve both performance and resident outcomes.

The facility had a long history of poor survey results, with 28–34 deficiencies cited annually. However, through persistence, leadership, and the support of two exceptional leaders who joined my team, we were able to transform that environment. After 18 months of focused effort, we reduced those deficiencies to just three—with only one clinical concern.

That experience shaped everything.

It taught me that sustainable change doesn’t come from quick fixes—it comes from strong systems, empowered leadership, and a team aligned around a clear mission.

Over the years, my career expanded into multi-state clinical consulting, leadership roles, and operational oversight. I’ve had the opportunity to work across diverse organizations, help facilities go live with electronic health records, and develop systems that support compliance, quality, and long-term success.

Through these experiences, I discovered my passion:
not just improving systems—but developing leaders.

I’ve seen what happens when talented nurses and leaders lack the structure, mentorship, and tools to succeed. I’ve also seen what happens when they are equipped and supported—they transform organizations.

That’s why I created Core Systems Clinical Consulting.

My mission is to help healthcare leaders build strong systems, achieve regulatory excellence, and create environments where both staff and residents thrive.

My approach is rooted in real-world clinical experience, regulatory expertise, and leadership development. I work alongside organizations to assess systems, identify gaps, and implement sustainable solutions that improve both compliance and quality outcomes. My goal is to empower leaders with the tools, structure, and confidence needed to drive lasting change within their facilities.
